Let’s Be “Real”

None of us have it all together. We all make mistakes. We all have faults. We all have something about us that we would like to change whether it is in our appearance or our hearts or our mind. We all have something we struggle with or skeletons in our closet that we wish we didn’t have to deal with or that we don’t want others to know about. When we give those to Christ, he will help us deal with them and show us ways we can use them to help others.

Christ is the only person that had it all together. He died for us so that we can overcome our faults and use our weaknesses to help others. When we allow our weaknesses to be used to reach others, others can look past us and our imperfections and see the Christ, the only one that has ever been perfect.

Through Christ, we can look forward to attaining perfection in heaven. So for now let’s be real and relate to those that may need a friend to get them over their own imperfections. We can all be imperfect together that we might all be perfect in heaven where we will finally “get it all together”.

Is our way always the right way?

So many seem to want things their way so they won’t seek God. Others are afraid of what He will ask them to do. No matter the situation, God gives us benefits that outweigh any circumstance that we are called to experience. Obedience continues to give beyond our imagination. Troubles will still come, but He gives us strength to overcome those troubles. His ways are always better than our ways. He will never ask us to do something without helping us to get it done.

Effects of pornography

I will see a Dear Abby type article every once in a while and the writer will talk about how their spouse has lost interest in sex and no longer finds them attractive. The response so often will suggest things to do without looking for the problem. I very seldom see a response that suggests pornography to be the problem. The symptoms they describe are so often, those that occur when a person is addicted to pornography, but yet it is never mentioned.

The addiction to pornography will affect how a person views their spouse or partner. It can cause a person to lose interest and even to the point of no longer being able to function in a normal marriage relationship. Young children can become addicted and get involved in stuff that will effect them into their adult life yet people are reluctant to face reality. People don’t want to make the effort to better their lives. They want to ignore the real issue and continue to do the very thing that is destroying their relationship.

TV influence on a young lady

There was a young lady, full of potential and compassion to help others, but she spent countless hours, day after day watching reality shows on TV that portrayed lives lived in sin. The characters on the shows were involved in sexual relations. They would have anger outbursts that included yelling and cursing. Many times they had negative effects of drugs and alcohol.

If you could hear this young lady living her life, you could see she was a reflection of what she filled her day with. If you could only get through to her that life was never intended to be this way. She must wonder why her relationships don’t last and friends turn their backs on her when she is in a time of needing a friend. You can only hope that she will begin to see the light and reflect on good things so that the good she puts into herself can pull out the good that she already has inside. That way, when she is looked upon by others, they will see the reflection of light instead of darkness.

We become what we expose ourselves to. If we want to have a positive life, we must focus on the positive. We must look upon that which is good and turn from evil. Satan will use ever means possible to steal the life we can have through Christ. Don’t be deceived into believing his lies. Seek the Truth.
