The presents we share is just “stuff”. The important thing is that we love each other. The most important thing is that we love God and love His Son that He gave to us. Jesus continues to be the Ultimate Gift.
Our Heavenly Father, we thank you for today and what we celebrate. We thank you for the gift that you gave that is available to all of us. We pray that we would all be willing to accept that gift and live the life that you created us to live. We ask that today be what you want it to be since it is you that we are celebrating. Help us to celebrate you every day. Amen
Funerals started yesterday for the young children that were victims in the Connecticut school shooting. Keep the families in your prayers.
We all have moments when we feel like we can’t go on anymore.
When we feel like evil is all around us, we need to keep our focus on God. He is bigger than all of it. If we focus on the things around us, we get the wrong perspective. Allow God to be the air you breath. Get your strength from Him.
Often times, when we have a crisis in our life, smaller crisis also come up against us causing us to feel overwhelmed. We wonder how we can take much more. Hang on and keep God in your life. He will be your source of whatever you need.
Twas’ 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven’s gate.
Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
They could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
They were filled with such joy; they didn’t know what to say.
They remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
“where are we?” asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
“This is heaven” declared a small boy. “We’re spending Christmas at God’s house”.
When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
Then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
And in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring
those children all flew into the arms of their King
and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus’ face.
And as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, “I’ll take care of mom and dad.
“then He looked down on earth, the world far below
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe,
then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
“Let My power and presence re-enter this land!
“May this country be delivered from the hands of fools”
“I’m taking back my nation. I’m taking back my schools!
“Then He and the children stood up without a sound.
“Come now my children let me show you around.
“Excitement filled the space, some skipped, and some ran,
all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
“in the midst of this darkness,” I AM STILL THE LIGHT.”
Our Heavenly Father, We thank you for creating us. We thank you for protecting us when we aren’t even aware of your presence. We thank you for being there when we call on you even though there are times we don’t seek your face when we should. We pray you would guide us in a way that we would walk in obedience to you. We pray we would seek you for our daily bread. We thank you for the opportunity to feast with family and friends and for all the things you give to us on a daily basis that we take for granted. May your grace and peace be with each of us. In Jesus Name, Amen
It is God’s will that all be saved and have eternal life with Him.
So many don’t seek this when they are young because they think they have time. They don’t think about dying young but you don’t really know how long you have.
People that have accepted Christ’s salvation know its importance and want it for their loved ones. They want those they care about to also have eternal life with Christ.
Many don’t realize this importance and may miss their opportunity. We that know need to keep on praying so that as many as possible will make that positive choice in Christ. Once a person enters eternity, they will no longer have that opportunity.
