TV influence on a young lady

There was a young lady, full of potential and compassion to help others, but she spent countless hours, day after day watching reality shows on TV that portrayed lives lived in sin. The characters on the shows were involved in sexual relations. They would have anger outbursts that included yelling and cursing. Many times they had negative effects of drugs and alcohol.

If you could hear this young lady living her life, you could see she was a reflection of what she filled her day with. If you could only get through to her that life was never intended to be this way. She must wonder why her relationships don’t last and friends turn their backs on her when she is in a time of needing a friend. You can only hope that she will begin to see the light and reflect on good things so that the good she puts into herself can pull out the good that she already has inside. That way, when she is looked upon by others, they will see the reflection of light instead of darkness.

We become what we expose ourselves to. If we want to have a positive life, we must focus on the positive. We must look upon that which is good and turn from evil. Satan will use ever means possible to steal the life we can have through Christ. Don’t be deceived into believing his lies. Seek the Truth.

Messy Lives

God  wants to be a part of your life but He will not force himself on you. He wants you to prosper and have a good life. It does not mean you have to be a radical Christian and be in church 10 times a week. It means He want to have a relationship with you where you tell Him your heartaches and He heals your sorrows and guides you to make decisions that are wiser than you can make on your own. Sometimes those decisions don’t make sense at the time but they work out to the good of those who love Him.

If you have made decisions that have made a mess of your life, God wants to help you clean it up. He takes big messes and small messes and makes something beautiful. If you are tired of dealing with the mess, simply ask God if He can do any better than you and that you want His help to make life better. He realizes you want to do it on your own, but He knows so much more about you than you know of yourself. He knows your hearts desire and what you want even before you ask. He does not give without us asking and He will not help without us inviting.

God has created all things and has the power to give and the power to take away. He has the power to run our life but He won’t do it. He allows us the free will to mess it up if that is what we want to do. We can be stubborn until the thief destroys us or we can choose to have life and have it in abundance but it comes down to our choice.

God loves you so much that His dying on the cross has relieved you from following rules to just enjoying the relationship with Him that is available for the asking.

Axis Notes

I attended a weekend event where Axis presented their Grid Presentation and these are my notes:

What do you love?
               Love the right thing.
What kind of empire are you building?
Don’t build an empire of dirt.
Get the right map.
 Aim for the right target.
Run the right way.
 Play the right game.
 Believe the right things.

What is your target?
If we hit the wrong target, it won’t count.
What game are you playing?
It won’t matter if you win if it is the wrong game.
What do you believe?
If you are acting differently than you say then you probably don’t believe what you say.
Your walk talks and your talk talks, but your walk talks louder than your talk talks.
Are you filtering your views?
Make sure you embrace the Truth.
We need real relationships with real people.
God wants to have a relationship with you.
We have done nothing wrong, but what have we done?
Do something to make someone else’s life better. You will be better for it.
What excuses are we using to not change?
Allow God’s Word to change us.
God gives us guidelines to protect us from harm and everything we give up or give to Him allows Him to give us something better and more fulfilling.
Examine your life: What can you do to make your life one level better?

God Has A Plan For You

Get as much out of life (church, devotionals, prayer time, Sunday school, etc) that will make a positive difference in your relationship with Christ and ultimately your life. If you maintain a relationship with Him, you will be happier than you could ever be without Him. No matter what you experience in life, He will be there to help you through it. He will give you your life desires if you are willing to accept all that He has planned for you. So many think they have a better plan but you won’t find a better one than His. You will get out of life what you put into it. You will be better equipped to achieve goals that are meaningful and that will last.
We all have improvements that need to be made. God continues to help us make those improvements if we walk in His steps. I want to be in His steps and I pray you will seek to do the same. Each step starts by asking for His help. If you are walking in His steps pray for yourself that you will not be distracted by the things the world (Satan) uses to draw us away and pray for your peers that their distractions will not lead them down the wrong path. May God Bless you in your journey and your story. May your story be the beautiful one that God has planned for you.

Freedom

You can be free to do what God wants you to do and free to be who God wants you to be. That freedom comes through Christ and gives us a feeling like no other freedom we have ever known. We think we are free when we are doing our own thing, but the sense of freedom we feel when following Christ is so much more. Without Christ, we cannot be free to receive His blessings. We are in bondage when we get involved in the sin He so often warns us to stay away from. We think we are free to do anything, but when we do what He has told us not to do, we create circumstances that bring negative consequences. This brings us under bondage and causes us to feel things God never intended for us. He warns us against sin because He does not want us to experience these negative consequences. He wants us to have freedom in Him so that we can receive His blessings and have life to the fullest. He does not promise a life without trouble but He has many many promises that are ours if we walk with Him. Life will be so much more fulfilling.
