God Does Things Completely

Verse 11 really stood out to me today. It doesn’t say that God’s word will do some things that He sent them to do but that His words will do everything. When God does something, He does it completely. There is no unfinished business. There will be no strings left untied. I thank God for doing work in our lives that we would not be able to accomplish on our own.

Isaiah 55:6-11
Turn to the LORD! He can still be found. Call out to God! He is near. 7Give up your crooked ways and your evil thoughts. Return to the LORD our God. He will be merciful and forgive your sins. 8The LORD says: “My thoughts and my ways are not like yours. 9Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, my thoughts and my ways are higher than yours. 10Rain and snow fall from the sky. But they don’t return without watering the earth that produces seeds to plant and grain to eat. 11That’s how it is with my words. They don’t return to me without doing everything I send them to do” (Isaiah 55:6-11). Read more

Be Thankful

We are to be thankful for all things, good and bad, no matter what our current circumstance. God is in control. He will help us through it and we can get something good from the experience. There is a purpose for all that we experience in life.

1 Thessalonians 5

16 Be joyful always, 17 pray at all times, 18 be thankful in all circumstances. This is what God wants from you in your life in union with Christ Jesus.

Life Is Too Short

You all remember when we were young how we thought we had so much time and those of you who are young are thinking that right now.

In the front of my mom’s Bible, she has written, “Life is too short not to put Christ first.”

Before you know it, you are my age and then before you know it your soul is called home. I want my home to be with my Savior and the only way I know for that to become a reality is to seek God’s wisdom and walk in all the light He gives me.
