Seeking An Answer To Prayer May Require A Lot Of Self Examination

Are you where God wants you?

  • Are you doing what is right?
  • Are you reading God’s word? Romans 15:4
  • Are you doing what He asks you to do?
  • Are you eagerly seeking His Will?
  • Are you still giving Him praise simply because He is God?

We need to praise Him in all things even when we are uncomfortable.

Why do you want a certain answer?

  • Is it to make your life easier or more convenient?
  • Is it to make someone else’s life more comfortable?
  • Is it so God can receive glory?

We may want all of these but the primary reason should be for God to receive glory. God knows the best means to accomplish that and that may require us or others to be uncomfortable for a time.

Are you trusting God for the right answer and to bring good out of the whole situation?

  • Are you trusting Him for your spouse? your children? your friend?
  • Are you allowing Him to be God?
  • Are you trusting Him to know the right process? the right time?
  • Is God your satisfaction or are you seeking satisfaction from money? food? your spouse? a friend?
  • Are you asking for and accepting His peace, joy and hope in the situation? Romans 15:13

What Is God Trying To Accomplish?

In every situation, God will be doing a work on everyone involved, even those that are onlookers. Before you try to fix the other people, examine yourself to see what God is trying to do in you. It may take you getting to where God want you to be for the others to get where God wants them to be.

Persecution and Problems

No one said it was easy to follow Christ. He tells us in this world we will have troubles. We have troubles whether we walk with Him or not. The difference is the amount of troubles and whether we go through them alone or with Him.

We will be persecuted. We will think differently than the world thinks. We may be called names or laughed at. Consider it joy because we are living for the Lord and we will receive our reward. Look at what Christ went through. We should be just like Him and forgive them for they know not what they do. They are not yet understanding God’s perspective. Until they do, they will not see things the same and therefore may do things and say things that may be inappropriate. We should forgive and pray for them.

They are not perfect and we are not perfect. They may still need to accept Jesus as their Savior but they are loved just the same. Allow God to deal with others and let’s do our best when God deals with us.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

If you have had a great 2012, may your 2013 be even greater. If 2012 has not been that great, may 2013 be a year of renewing. God is bigger than any of your problems. Your attitude, outlook and perspective can make all the difference. Don’t allow Satan to defeat you. God can make the difference in how well your year unfolds. May it be joyful, peaceful, hopeful and full of the things that truly satisfy.

If you want this year to be different, you may need to make changes in how you are doing life. You may need to do things differently if you aren’t getting the results you want. If you don’t change how you live, you will keep getting the same results.

Poor decisions bring poor results.

Better decisions bring better results.

Good decisions bring good results.

Make sure you are moving to the right drummer.
