Forgiven But Not Forgotten

When we forgive, things are not always forgotten. Even in remembrance, we  can have a relationship. Things may not be the same and we may need to be on guard. We live in a fallen world with fallen people. It is not our place to hold anything against anyone for their mistakes even when they have done something to us. We have a God that is all knowing. If He has allowed something into our lives then He has a purpose. He will use it for His glory and our betterment. Romans 8:28 says “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.” Sin causes consequences. Those that have sinned against us will have consequences but it is not for us to decide those consequences. God should decide. If we try to bring about consequences, we are trying to be a god and that is not our job. God is the Father of fathers and knows what discipline is right for his children and the right actions to use with those that choose to not serve Him. He offers forgiveness to anyone that will come to Him and confess their sins. If that sin is not confessed through Jesus and covered by His blood then there will be eternal consequences. I believe God allows things into our lives to draw us to Him and to help us become stronger that He may use us for His purpose. We do not always see why God has allowed certain things in our lives but if we are to live a victorious life, we must do our best to be obedient. God is God and knows all things and His plan is bigger than we can even imagine.

1 John 1

5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[b] sin.

8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

Philippians 4

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
